All day Tuesday and Wednesday consisted of providing training to the local Midwives on community health education, aseptic technique, episiotomy, reducing post-partum hemorrhage, and neonatal resuscitation through the program 'Helping Babies Breathe'. 17 midwives from the surrounding area attended as well as the Community Health Director for the Atiwa District. They were an amazing group of people and we loved having the opportunity to provide the training and as well as learn from them. Monday night we finalized our training and practiced with NeoNatalie.
Sometimes in the African jungle you have to improvise. We brought balloons to give to some kids but Dr. Hughes and Danette realized we could also use an inflated balloon to demonstrate manual removal of the placenta. Always thinking outside the box. NeoNatalie
